Saxilby

  • Saxilby Sign

The semi-rural countryside village of Saxilby is known for its intriguing history, with landmarks that date back to the Roman times. Built by the Romans, the attractive Fossdyke canal runs through the village and is described as England’s oldest waterway. The village is set in the heart of Lincolnshire’s beautiful countryside and offers a strong community spirit and caters for all age groups.

Saxilby offers a wide range of amenities, including a local public house which dates back to the 1800s, a family-run café and green grocers, a variety of takeaways, a village hall, a library, a Co-op with a post office, 3 hairdressers, a doctor’s surgery, a railway station and a very popular fish and chip shop.

The village has the Saxilby Church of England Primary School, which is Ofsted rated ‘good’. There are also two nurseries in the village and various secondary schools located in the city of Lincoln and other surrounding villages.
