The semi-rural countryside village of Nettleham is well known for its picturesque village green, historic church and scenic countryside views. The lovely village has a strong community spirit and wide range of amenities throughout.

Are you looking for some inspiration of what to do with the family? Well, there’s always something fun to do in Nettleham, so we thought we’d round up some ideas of things to do in the village this spring.

Visit the Nettleham Scarecrow Trail

Nettleham Scout Group are holding their fourth annual Scarecrow Festival. Why not have a day out with the family and explore the lovely village of Nettleham, while seeing the homemade scarecrows along the way. Trail maps will be available on the day from the Scout Hut on Vicarage Lane for £2. You will also be able to purchase light refreshments including hot drinks, juice and homemade cakes!

The event runs from 9th May at 10:00 – 10th May at 16:00.

Do the Easter Egg Trail

Why not get hunting at the Nettleham Easter Egg Trail with the family. At only £2 per child, it’s a fantastic activity for the kids to enjoy, without having to break the bank! Visit the community hub in the village and collect your trail details. Hunt for all 10 eggs hidden around Nettleham village and once you find all ten, you’ll receive a chocolate egg at the end of it! They are also running a colouring competition to win a giant Cadburys egg. Happy hunting!

The trail runs from 4th – 18th April, starting at 9am.

Visit the Mini Market

Every Saturday from 10am, there is a local mini market held at the Community Hub in Nettleham village. The mini market offers lovely flowers from local florist, The Flower Shed, some delicious homemade breads & jams from Elster Bread Company, as well as some lovely Beeswax Wraps (the plastic free alternative to cling film) from Lincolnshire Beeswax Wraps.

Treat the family to a meal out

Why not have a delicious meal out with the family at one of the two award-winning Batemans Brewery pubs in the village. Choose from The Plough, which offers traditional pub food with a cosy atmosphere or the White Hart Bar & Restaurant, which offers an eclectic menu from around the world, with house smoked specialities such as ribs, burgers and steak. If you’re looking for a lighter bite, you could visit the quaint Tea Cosy Café for lunch or afternoon tea! Find out more about these places here: The Plough Inn . The White Hart , The Tea Cosy.

Enjoy the outdoors

If the weather permits, why not take the family to Mulsanne Park in the village where the kids can have fun on the play area! If you’re the outdoorsy type, you can also take a stroll through Vicars Woods near the parish church or even have a picnic on the lovely village green.

We hope these ideas gave you some inspiration on things to do this spring! Do you want to move to this beautiful, thriving village? Take a look at our new 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes available on our Lodge Lane development in Nettleham here.
